An oil well engineering consultancy firms which recently opened a new base in Aberdeen has consolidated its relationship with a major operator in the UK and Norway thanks to the award of significant contracts.
Acona Group has announced a step forward in its long-standing relationship with BP Norge and BP UK with a new five-year frame agreement for consultancy services with BP Norge, and a contract to deliver performance service for BP UK as part of its well delivery process.
The agreement is scheduled to run until the end of 2015, with three one-year extension options and currently involves Acona personnel working on the Paul B. Lloyd Jr and Ensco 101 rigs in onshore and offshore roles. The project is managed by Acona AS in Bergen and run by Acona UK with resources supplied from Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.
The Acona Group is based in Norway and offers a flexible talent pool of more than 240 top consultants to the upstream oil and gas industry. The company set up its Aberdeen office earlier this year, enhancing services previously available from Great Yarmouth.
Acona Chairman Ketil Lenning said: “We are looking forward to working with BP on both sides of the North Sea.”
