Exova Group – the Edinburgh-based global testing and calibration services provider – has acquired UK-based environmental testing specialist Environmental Evaluation Limited (EEL).

EEL is recognised as a leader in asbestos management services for the nuclear decommissioning industry. The company also provides specialist asbestos testing and inspection to a range of private and public sector customers, along with stack emissions testing, occupational hygiene advisory services and health & safety training. It is based in Oldham and employs 83 people.

The deal extends Exova’s geographical reach and capabilities within the UK, as well as opening up growth opportunities in new market segments.

Headquartered in Edinburgh, Exova operates 118 permanent facilities in 23 countries and employs more than 3,800 people worldwide. It specialises in testing across a number of key sectors from health sciences to aerospace, transportation, oil and gas, fire and construction.
