Dundee-based Albacom has expanded its oil and gas sector capabilities with the re-launch of its Surface Technology division after a £250,000 investment.
Albacom has invested significantly in diverse manufacturing, repair and maintenance technology and has also recruited four new members of staff to support the development of its Surface Engineering and Machining division
Jim Davidson, Chief Executive, Albacom, commented: “Diversification is key to our growth strategy and this divisional expansion is crucial for us to build upon our capabilities in the oil and gas market.
Work is already underway with our first major oil and gas service company and we’re excited to further develop the services we can offer in this area.”
The past 12 months have seen significant growth and market expansion for Albacom, with the launch of the company’s new Lifting Services and Motor Rewinding divisions and a further defence sector contract win in India.
Davidson added: “In the past year, our workforce has increased from 17 members of staff to 23 and I’m delighted that we are in a position to continue recruiting locally, during what has been a very challenging time for many businesses.
“We have recruited a divisional Supervisor alongside three machinists who have significant oil and gas experience and will play key roles in our expansion moving forward.”
