AND FINALLY: Benbecula baton buzz…

Rona Mackay and Laura Robertson from Community Energy Scotland’s Benbecula office were all smiles yesterday when the Queen’s Baton Relay, for the Commonwealth Games, arrived at Lioncleit on Benbecula.

benbeculaLaura Robertson is pictured here with her cousin Chris Bennet who was one of the Baton Bearers. The baton had travelled up from Barra and South Uist, and passed Charlie Robb’s Enercon turbine which is a constant reminder of the renewable energy resource available to commercial and community turbines in the Western Isles.

The baton is  heading for Stornoway before returning to the mainland.
