AND FINALLY: Will Prime Minister Sturgeon ban North Sea oil and gas (like her New Zealand counterpart?)

Prime Minister Sturgeon
Prime Minister Sturgeon

There have been (un-corroborated) reports in the so-called mainstream media suggesting that the SNP is now looking to put New Zealand on the altar of thriving wee independent nations.

Like Scotland, it speaks English, is small, far away, has lots of sheep … and is run by a woman!

This Pacific nirvana hast also just become one of the world’s first countries to ban future offshore oil and gas exploration in a move described by new (female) prime minister Jacinda Ardern as “part of our package of measures to tackle climate change”.

Let’s hope that if Scotland does vote to become Independent, Prime Minister Sturgeon does not follow that policy from her party’s new independence pin-up country.

Or will it  still be – as the SNP used to successfully claim – ‘Scotland’s oil’?
