The Scottish property technology firm, Arbnco, has been granted phase-one funding as part of the government’s £6mn innovation competition, Boosting Access for SMEs to Energy Efficiency (BASEE). BASEE funding will support the development of Arbnco’s Digital Energy Efficiency Platform (DEEP), which aims to make the UK’s 5.7mn small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), representing 99% of businesses and 50% of energy use, more energy efficient. DEEP will tackle common barriers, such as high upfront and transactional costs, economies of scale and difficulties accessing finance, by generating a bespoke lists of energy efficiency measures, including costs and finance options, and a business case for implementing energy efficiency.
