Apache has awarded a new three year North Sea platform drilling management contract to Archer on their Forties and Beryl fields. This will include the Forties Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta as well as the Beryl Alpha and Bravo platforms.

In addition to the firm contract term, two additional two-year extension options are available.

Archer has provided these offshore oilfield services to Apache on the Forties and Beryl fields since 2004 and 2012 respectively. The new contract ensures Archer’s continued operations for Apache until at least December 2020.

With this award, Archer’s offshore drilling crews will also continue to provide drilling operations and maintenance services for 11 major operators on 42 installations in the North Sea, following other successful contract awards with Shell, Chevron and Marathon Oil.

  • BP has set aside another $1.7 billion in compensation pay-outs arising from the Deepwater Horizon oil blow-out disaster, in which 11 people died in the Gulf of Mexico.

The follows resolution of a spate of recently claims – which were seven times greater than BP anticipated. As a result, the financial cost of the disaster has risen to around $65 billion.

Meanwhile, Scottish Energy News is presently offering a premier-position sponsored-advertising banner (which would be interactive and click-able to the sponsor’s website, see above)

This would be updated in real time with the latest N. Sea benchmark Brent crude oil price-per-barrel in a ‘standard’ ticker-tape wire report – which means your banner-adv would be clicked many times per day.

This offer is open to the entire oil and gas supply chain – not just explorers – as well as advisers such as business advisory firms.

But only one such offer is available and will be made on a first-come, first-served, basis.

This offer is similar to the highly effective banner-adv which Scottish Energy News publishes daily for the Scientific Alliance, which is updated live with the latest type of energy generation load (ie coal, gas, wind, solar, nuclear,) on the UK National Grid.

In addition to the corporate/ generic <insert name of your company> wrapper around the near-live crude oil price update banner-adv, you as client could additionally insert corporation information, such as on recent industry awards, new appointments, annual results, major investments, etc..

We know – and can prove – that Scientific Alliance banner-adv is one of the most frequently visited and clicked advs on the Scottish Energy News daily e-newsletter.
