A free women-only speed mentoring event is being held next month at a renewable energy conference in Glasgow.
Taking its cue from speed dating events, speed mentoring is series of short, informal conversations about specific issues facing women renewables the industry.
The event will commence with a special guest speaker, Clare Lavelle, who is Arup’s Energy Consulting Business Leader in Scotland and the North East, and an enthusiastic advocate of the engineering profession to young women.
As such, she manages a team of consultants delivering technical commissions in the energy sector focusing on offshore wind, wave, tidal, oil and gas decommissioning and carbon capture and storage.
Each table will be hosted by a senior woman from within the sector with significant mentoring experience, and participants will have the opportunity to rotate around the tables in 10-minute slots.
Each table/mentor will focus on a specific issue, and participants can ask questions around that theme.
It is being organised by the Women’s Engineering Society on 11 May 2017.
