Energy service provider BayWa r.e. has announced that it has acquired energy asset developer Forsa Energy UK’s renewable energy business, backed by private equity firm Riverstone.
In the 29 May announcement, the company said it will gain access to a 350MW pipeline of Scottish onshore windfarms, adding to its 823MW of solar and 1,047MW of wind power under management in the UK and Ireland. The Scottish pipeline has six wind farms totalling 200MW and an expectation of consent for an additional wind farm of a further 150MW by 2020.
Additionally, the company will also gain an onshore wind development and construction team led by Alasdair MacLeod, Director of Renewables Generation at Forsa Energy.
