Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm opens

Scottish & Southern Energy’s 588MW Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm was officially opened by HRH Prince Charles on 29 July.

Located in the Moray Firth, Scotland, the 84-turbine site is the fourth largest wind farm in the world.

Martin Pibworth, SSE’s Energy Director, said: “Crucially, as the fourth largest offshore wind farm in the world, Beatrice will make a major contribution towards combating climate change and meeting the UK’s ambitions for net zero carbon emissions by 2050.”
