A Belgian helicopter operator has won the contract to provide flights from Aberdeen to help support the construction of a new wind turbine parc in the Moray Firth.
A German manufacturer is providing the turbines for the Beatrice wind farm and this contract will enable helicopter operator NHV Group – which began flights from Dyce two years ago – to increase its fleet of Airbus H175 aircraft to 16.
NHV’s base manager Jamie John commented: “We are delighted that Siemens Gamesa have selected NHV to partner with them in the construction of the Beatrice offshore wind farm. This strengthens the strong working relationship between us, with NHV having previously supported wind farm operations in the southern North Sea.”
