The Challenge Fund is part of the Scottish Government’s flagship Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) delivered by Local Energy Scotland.
And the organisers are counting down the days until the second round of the Scottish Government’s Local Energy Challenge Fund closes to new applications later this month.
Phase 2 funding of between £500,000 up to £6 million is available from April 2016 over two years (subject to the Scottish Government spending review). The last date for submitting questions on round 2 is 18 May 2015 and the actual application deadline is 25 May 2015.
Laura Campbell, Challenge Fund Project Manager, said: “We want to make sure people don’t miss the opportunity to apply.
“Phase one is all about developing your idea into a phase two project which could draw in funding of £500k – £6 million.
“The fund seeks to support large-scale local low carbon demonstrator projects which show a local energy economy approach linking local energy generation to local energy.”
