British nuclear waste quango to hold 2014 public meetings in Caithness

nuclear symbolThe Committee on Radioactive Waste Management, the UK government quango which grapples with the problem of how and where to dispose of nuclear wastes, is to hold two public meetings in Caithness this summer as part of a UK-wide series of plenaries.

Kicking off next month in Cardiff, the Waste Management Committee will also hold public meetings in near Sellafield nuclear site in Cumbria, and near Wylfa in Wales before its scheduled two-day plenary and public meetings in Thurso on 1-2 July 2014.

The committee’s plenary meetings are open so that members of the public can observe them, while at public meetings, members of the public are invited to meet the Committee and discuss its work.
