Crown Estate Scotland set to launch new offshore wind leasing round in October

Crown Estate Scotland has revealed plans to launch Scotland’s new leasing round for offshore wind projects in October.

Announced on 29 April, a pre-launch in July will be held to provide further details prior to the event, with the deadline for applications to be between February and April 2020. The offer of option agreements to successful applicants following publication of the Final Sectoral Plan adopted by Scottish Ministers will also be between May and July 2020.

Senior Development Manager for Crown Estate Scotland John Robertson said: “We want to provide clarity around our leasing proposals. We’ll continue to liaise closely with the industry and others in the coming months, and we’ll confirm the exact launch date in due course.”
