David Rowan, founder and managing director of award-winning EPIC International in Great Yarmouth, has died, aged 59, after a short illness.
He had employed hundreds of people offshore and onshore all over the world in the oil & gas industry through the company he founded in 2000, EPIC International.
Julian Manning, Chairman of the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) Late Life and Decommissioning Special Interest Group (SIG) – of which Rowan was a member – said:
“He will be missed by many, both in the local industry and further afield where Epic operates. Dave purposely kept a low key approach to business which he worked masterfully to create a unique and highly efficient service business surrounding late life and decommissioning.
“Dave was extremely proud of Epic’s capabilities and the flexible approach the company developed to successfully take out operational costs for its clients.”
He is survived by his wife, Kim, son and daughter, Dane and Naomi, and grandchildren Tigerlily, Sienna, Taylah, Lana and Reo.
