Dumfries-shire-based Natural Power has won a major contract to deliver turbine blade inspection services on 260 DONG Energy wind farms in the UK and Germany.
In this contract, inspection will inform maintenance and repair schedules to ensure the turbines are delivering optimal performance. Natural Power has already delivered turbine blade inspections at DONG’s London Array, and Walney Wind Farms, and is now preparing for Lincs Wind Farm.
The UK is Denmark-based DONG’s primary market for offshore wind production. It has already invested around £6 billion here with plans to double this by 2020.
Chris Rowland, UK Field Manager in Inspection Management, DONG Energy, said: “Natural Power demonstrated clear understanding and commitment to the growing needs of inspection and maintenance in offshore wind and is proactively working to build on a strong track record of quality and efficiency.”
Craig Gordon, Global Head of Inspections at Natural Power, said: “Selected for our ability to deliver best practice and operational efficiency, we offer a cost effective and flexible service when it comes to turbine inspections as an independent provider”.
