On 16 April, Dundee City Council that Dundee City Council will be expanding its programme of energy efficiency measures to 350 extra council and private homes at a cost of £3mn.
Dundee City Council had previously established the Dundee Energy Efficiency Advice Project (DEEAP), with the aim of providing a service throughout the city advising householders on issues including fuel tariffs, how to reduce bills and energy efficiency measures.
SSE will appoint contractors for the work, who will manage the programme expansion on behalf of the council.
Kevin Cordell, convener of Dundee City Council’s neighbourhood services committee, said: “The council, along with Home Energy Efficiency Programme Scotland and SSE through the Energy Company Obligation, are all contributing funds.”
