LUX Assure – the Edinburgh-based service provider in oil and gas pipeline anti-corrosion technologies – has opened a new office in Dubai.
It will be headed up by Hesham El-Brollosy, also newly-appointed as LUX’s vice-president of business development.
The newly launched Dubai office will also see Mahmoud El-Hawary, an existing LUX Assure consultant, take on a strategic consultancy role within the company.
Additionally appointed this month is Qatar based sales agent, Al-Balagh, who will be joining LUX Assure’s existing worldwide network of agents.
Charles Cruickshank, Chief Executive, LUX Assure – formerly business development director at energy services giant Petrofac – said: “The company has seen significant growth recently within the Middle East and earlier this year appointed three Middle Eastern agents, in Muscat, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi.”
Last year, LUX Assure – which is based at the capital’s Heriot Watt Research Park – received a £3.25 million investment from Statoil and ConocoPhillips which allowed it to transform from a research and development company to a service provider for the oil and gas industry.
The company has grown considerably since then, almost doubling in size – now employing 12 people in Scotland – and opening a new office in Aberdeen, and most recently, in Dubai.
Meanwhile, 3sun Group – another specialist provider of products and services to the offshore subsea industry – has appointed James Smith as general manager for its subsea division, RRC Controls Services. He is based in Gourdon, Aberdeenshire.
