Experts from a variety of business backgrounds will be sharing insights into employee recognition, reward and retention practices at Oil & Gas UK’s forthcoming employment seminar at the AECC on April 23, sponsored by ROC Health Services Ltd.
The programme for the full-day seminar promises to be both topical and diverse, providing delegates with the opportunity to hear from speakers including representatives from international management consultants, executive search specialists, engineering consultancies, major contractors and legal firms.
Dr Alix Thom, Oil & Gas UK’s employment and skills issues manager, said:
“With significant investment in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) and recent surges in activity, the industry has intensified its focus to help organisations sustain the flow of skilled people entering and remaining in the sector in the face of growing competition from the global oil and gas industry and other sources of employment.”
This all day event, entitled ‘The 3Rs – Recognition, Reward and Retention’, is open to members and non-members. It will cover a range of topics including the business imperative of getting the 3Rs right, latest data on reward practices in the UK and oil and gas sector in particular, the challenges of employee retention for a small to medium enterprise (SME), what is happening in the executive labour market and the impact of a day rate culture. The seminar will end with an opportunity for delegates to participate in a panel session chaired by Dr Thom.
