The latest data from Energy UK, shows that in September 2015, power delivered to the UK grid was generated in the following proportions by the following types of generator: –
- Gas power stations: 36.61%
- Nuclear: 22.84%
- Coal: 19.24%
- Wind: 5.77%
- Hydro: 0.51%
- Interconnectors: 8.84% net (with 6.10% from France and 2.78% from Holland)
Over September the average daily price for power was £41.58/MWh and the spot price for gas was 41.25p/thm.
GB transmission connected demand stood at 0.74 TWh/day for power and 2.27 TWh/day for natural gas in September.
