Five new jobs have been created in the Highlands thanks to the establishment of a new business in Caithness and Sutherland’s energy sector.
Envision Engineering & Design Ltd has been set up by directors Liam Sutherland and Stuart Anderson, both of whom are originally from Caithness.
The new company provides full design engineering solutions using the latest 3D AutoCAD software to a range of clients in the nuclear, renewables and oil and gas energy sectors. Services include, among others, the design of pipework, steelwork, hydraulic and ventilation systems.
Liam Sutherland said: “Our team has over 80 years of combined experience in delivering high quality engineering design for different businesses. Working directly with fabrication companies, we pride ourselves that our solutions are designed to be easily manufactured and tested through rigorous engineering assessments.
“We look forward to developing positive working relationships with clients but also aim to develop markets further afield in the rest of the UK and we hope to create another three posts within three years.”
A spokesman for Highlands Enterprise, which has invested £25,000 into the company, commented: “Envision’s strong focus on innovation and adroit use of the latest technology plays a vital part in providing high quality services to key markets such as marine renewables, oil and gas and nuclear – all of which, have the potential to deliver significant economic benefits to the area.
“We have identified the energy sector as a key area of growth for the local economy and we are keen to support this good example of local people taking advantage of these opportunities.”
