With €4 billion to be invested by 2020 and a project pipeline of 8900 MW, Finland is accelerating its commitment to wind power with a two-day seminar in Scotland this week.
With limited local experience and know-how in wind construction, there are supply chain opportunities in Finland for Scottish Companies.
The main focus in Finland for energy centres around the city of Vaasa in West Finland and the West Finland Energy Clusters – representing some 120 companies – have established an office in Edinburgh to provide a link between Finland and Scotland with Stephen Fox (former Scottish Government Civil Servant) as their representative here.
Companies and other organisations who are interested to learn about these opportunities in Finland are invited to attend a breakfast briefing either tomorrow in Edinburgh (March 4) or in Glasgow on Wednesday (March 5).
