The John Bell Pipeline Equipment Company Limited has held a party to celebrate its 40th birthday since the eponymous founder created the oil and gas equipment supplier in 1977.
Now part of the international Bianco Group, John Bell Pipeline operates from sites in Inverurie and Grangemouth and also supplies customers in the Middle East, generating a £12 million annual turnover.
In the midst of “the hardest industry recession ever” due to a prolonged low oil price, the company has won more than £6 million of contracts since the start of the year. These cover John Bell Pipeline’s full range of core products including valves, pipe and associated products in addition to Core6, its premium GRP product, sold as components or fully designed and fabricated composite access solutions.
It is also moving into new and emerging sectors as it celebrates its ruby anniversary, with a recent UK defence contract worth over £3 million.
To mark the special occasion JBP hosted a party at their site in Inverurie for employees, families, customers and the local suppliers that they have used over the 40 years. The team was delighted to also welcome company founder, John Bell to the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, a charity collection and raffle was also held in aid of Alzheimers Scotland, Children’s Hospice Association Scotland and Diabetes Research which raised £2,400 to be shared between the charities.
