All Energy event 21 May 2014, 14:00 – 15:30 ( in Crombie A)
Organised by the Industrial & Power Association (IPA)
Energy is currently headlining in the news and across the media, whether it is renewables, unconventional gas, oil, coal or nuclear not a day goes by without reference to the power industry.
The IPA represents a group of companies that operate in all areas of the power and energy related industries.
IPA members provide solutions based on a wide range of technologies, from thermal power plants to renewable energy systems. Expertise and experience ranges from design through construction and operation of complete power plants, and on the engineered systems and equipment that form critical parts of power plants.
Support in all stages of a power project, from concept to operation, including technical, legal, financial and environmental, is available from specialist companies within the membership.
This Conference Session presents some IPA member organisations that will describe some of their work and how it fits into the Power Industry. We have deliberately chosen topics which are often under publicised but nonetheless will form an important part of the overall solution in helping to meet the requirements of the EMR – and its three pillars, continuity of supply, affordability and low CO2.
Delegates will be able to hear about carbon capture through the Captain Clean Project at Grangemouth, an anaerobic digestion system at Lochhead in Dunfermline, Energy storage and its vital part in the delivery of a low carbon UK and how to develop and manage power generation.
