Petro-chemical giant INEOS has appointed Ron Coyle, Commercial Director of INEOS Phenol, as chief executive of INEOS Shale in succession to Gary Haywood, who has retired.
The new appointment represents a significant step change for INEOS Shale. With a diverse and knowledgeable shale team in place and a significant portfolio of land now secured, INEOS Shale is now ready to move into an operational phase.
INEOS Shale will shortly commence drilling test wells. Once the data from these surveys has been analysed, INEOS Shale will be well positioned to move into a production phase.
Coyle began his career in the US military where he reached the rank of captain. After completing his term in the army, he gained an MBA and joined INEOS Phenol in 1998 and became its Commercial Director in 2010. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for a global business worth around €4 billion dollars.
Coyle said: “I’m looking forward to helping INEOS shale take that final step into operations which will make the company one of the largest natural gas producers in the UK.”
