Independent Oilfield Services (IOS), which was established in 2014, has appointed Richard Torliefson as its new drillpipe inspector and ultrasonic testing (UT) operator, increasing its headcount to 40.
Mr Torliefson brings vast non-destructive testing (NDT) experience to IOS and is a certified magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and UT inspector, having worked for major service companies in the oil and gas industry.
Glynn Geddie, Business Development Manager, IOS, said: “We are delighted to have Richard on board and with a strong skillset in NDT, his knowledge and technical expertise will be invaluable to the inspection team at the yard.”
IOS was recently awarded planning permission by Aberdeenshire Council to press ahead with proposals to invest £10million to develop a further 30 acres of the site. With the new developments due to complete in the second quarter of 2016, new jobs are in the pipeline, with plans to increase its workforce further.
