
Oil rig positioning and surveying specialist i-SURVEY has won a three year contract with Shell for its mobile offshore drilling units in the North Sea, Norway and Ireland.
Andrew McMurtrie, Managing Director of i-SURVEY Offshore Limited said: “This is a significant win in what has been a challenging time for the entire market. We are pleased that our capabilities and service offering have been recognised by Shell, proving our reputation in offshore positioning within the European markets.”
Set up in 2004, i-SURVEY now has more than 100 employees working from bases in Aberdeen, Oslo and Singapore.
- Risk manager DNV GL has appointed Peter Boyle as Operations Manager and John Morgan as UK Business Development Leader for Risk Advisory Services. Both positions will be based in the company’s Aberdeen office.
A DNV GL spokesman commented: “The oil price collapse has resulted in a reticence to invest in the North Sea in the last two years. But confidence is returning to the province and there are opportunities. We have examined our service portfolio and have a number of new ideas to offer a cost-conscious market.”
- Offshore accommodation specialist HB Rentals has boosted its team with the appointment of two former Aiken Group senior managers to its Aberdeenshire office.
Dave Mair joins in the position of sales and business development manager and Thomas Smith has joined as operations manager.
