A celebration of the life and work of David Doig, chief executive of OPITO, who died suddenly last month, is to be held in Aberdeen.
People from across the oil and gas industry are expected to attend the memorial at the Kirk of St. Nicholas Uniting, Union Street, on 24 February 2017, to commemorate the widely-respected head of the industry skills and standards organisation.
Speakers will include former chief executive of Oil & Gas UK, Malcolm Webb; and former managing director of OPITO International, Ian Laing.
Sinead Watson, senior safety advisor at TAQA Bratani, who was among the first intake on the Oil & Gas Technician Apprenticeship Programme when it launched in 1999, will also speak.
The service will start at 11am. All those who knew David Doig are welcome to attend.
