The Moray West offshore wind farm project – a joint venture owned by EDP Renewables and Engie – has received marine consent from the Scottish government. As reported by Offshore Wind Journal on 17 June, the awarding of marine consent, together with successful planning applications for onshore electricity transmission infrastructure earlier this year, means that the 800+ MW offshore wind farm development in the outer Moray Firth can enter into the next Contract for Difference auction – if successful construction could commence in 2022.
