Narec granted membership of leading European Energy Research Alliance (EERA)

Narec logo 1The National Renewable Energy Centre, Narec, has been accepted as an associate member of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA).

As the alliance for leading organisations in energy research and influencing European R&D energy policy, this membership is an important step for Narec and signifies their R&D credentials; firmly positioning Narec on the European research map and reinforcing its links with research centres across Europe.

Ignacio Marti, Chief Technology Officer, Narec, commented:

“I am delighted that Narec has been granted membership of EERA. Narec’s R&D activity has considerably increased over recent years and this acceptance acknowledges our position.

“I look forward to greater cooperation and collaboration with the major European research organisations and facilities, helping to strengthen and enhance Narec’s existing capability and involvement with European R&D programmes.”

Peter Hauge Madsen, Coordinator of the EERA Joint Programme on Wind Energy, commented:

“Narec is home to some of the world’s most advanced test facilities, it was a logical and obvious decision to have them as part of the alliance. Combining Narec’s capabilities and facilities will be a great addition to the network of facilities and capabilities that exist across Europe.”
