
Aberdeen-based Subsea UK has recruited three new members to its board. They are:
- Nicky Etherson, group commercial director, Bibby Offshore
- Zander Bruce, subsea operations manager, BP North Sea
- Phil Simons,vice-president (North Sea and Canada), Subsea 7
Bill Edgar, Chairman, Subsea UK, said: “Their input will be of huge benefit to the board as we continue to support our members as they face the considerable challenges arising from the current market conditions.
“Our main focus for 2017 is to ensure that the UK subsea sector is in a strong position to meet industry needs and deliver a valuable service to our members and the sector as a whole.”

Aberdeen-based ROV and subsea services provider Ashtead Technology has appointed a new business development director.
With a career spanning more than 20 years in the oil and gas industry, David Mair joins from Hoover Ferguson Group where he held the position of global business development director. Previously, he worked at Subsea 7 where he held a number of management roles, including group vice-president of business development.
Aleron, the Aberdeenshire-based ROV solutions provider, has secured two contract wins in North Africa for its group companies, Aleron Subsea and ROVQUIP.
Utilising an Aleron Subsea Triton XL, supplied together with ROVQUIP’s new decommissioning multi-mode Cutting Tool, the Aleron Subsea ROV system is continuing to operate with Oceana on a subsea intervention project and will remain available for additional work in the Mediterranean.

Aleron managing director, Mike Bisset, commented, “Oceana Subsea are making great progress as an ROV operator. We have rented them highly capable assets, allowing them to add to their capability without deploying the level of resource required to acquire and maintain a wider range of ROV systems and tooling.”
Bibby Offshore, has promoted Allan Nairn to the post of Director of Diving.
He joined Bibby in 2010 as offshore project manager and has more than 30 years’ experience in the subsea sector
