Nominations have now opened for the 2014 Scottish Green Energy awards, which are set to take place at the Edinburgh conference centre on November 27.
Some of the newest award categories that will be up for the taking this year will be the ‘Best Supplier Award’ along with the ‘Renewing Scotland Award’ and the ‘Champion of Renewables Award’.
In total, there will be 14 awards presented on the night with nominations closing on Friday, 5 September.
The event intends to recognise business development, growth, investment, innovation and the future of the energy sector workforce. Over 1,000 attendees are expected to turn up to celebrate the achievements by those making significant contributions Scotland’s energy sector.
Previous winners include founder of All-Energy, Judith Patten, Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing, MSP, Rob Gibson, MSP, and the Energy Skills Partnership.
Scottish Energy News has already been nominated as a candidate for the ‘Champion of Renewables Award 2014’. Its nomination entry states:
‘Scottish Energy News.com would be a worthy winner of the Champion of Renewables Award for its principled commitment – and practice – to independent, non-partisan, evidence-based reporting of renewable energy sector in Scotland. It is read at least once a day (and often more) by 75% of all MSPs in Holyrood.’
Scottish Energy News is sent daily to more than 3,000 active, individually-addressed subscribers throughout the UK and Ireland.
It has a growing International audience in USA/ Canada and in Asia/ Japan/ China and Australia.

Judging takes place on September 17 2014 – which is also the first anniversary of the launch of Scottish Energy News as the unique, daily, fast, free and focussed business-to-business channel for the energy sector.
