Ofgem is consulting on its assessment of the Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission’s proposal for reducing impacts on visual amenity in the Cairngorms National Park, it announced on 28 February.
It said that SHE Transmission has requested £31.9mn to replace two sections of overhead line, totaling 12.3km, with 14.1km of underground cable. This and associated works involving the expansion of the Boat of Garten substation are expected to be delivered by 2020.
A non-confidential summary of SHE Transmission’s submission was published alongside the consultation.
Responses are welcomed until 29 March.
