Peterhead offshore energy services firm wins environmental award

A family-run Peterhead-based surface preparation and protective coatings company – has been awarded the internationally recognised certification ISO 14001 environmental management standard,

Originally established as a ship-painting business in 1976, Davidsons Blast Services now provides a specialist service to the oil and gas, decommissioning and subsea industries.

Operating from state-of-the-art purpose built premises at the Dales Industrial Estate the firm’s environmentally friendly blasting and painting facility features a unique grit recovery system, which enables DBS to reduce its carbon footprint. 

Nicola Harris, Commercial Director, said: “Successfully maintaining internationally recognised ISO 9001 and achieving ISO 14001 certifications is a major milestone for the company and reflects the responsibility and commitment of the DBS management team and staff.
