Petrex Developments – an Aberdeen-based subsea engineering and project management company – has sponsored the planes of pilots Des Hart and Trevor Jarvis of Team GB in this years’ Air Race 1 World Cup.

Planes and pilots arrived at the Monastir International Airport in Tunisia recently for the Air Race 1 World Cup (pictured, above). Air Race 1 is ‘pure motorsport’ at its fastest. All airplanes race against each other at speeds of more than 250 mph on a circuit just 2km from end to end.

The first aircraft to cross the finish line is the winner – and Petrex pilot Des Hart took a podium place after finishing third.
