The PressureFab Group has just completed a two year, £1 million pound investment package to upgrade its facility in Dundee – mainly upgrading existing manufacturing capabilities and implementing CNC Oil-tool machinery for precision production of drilling and subsea related oil-tooling.
The company designs and manufacturers specialist rig topside and subsea equipment. As Scotland’s largest offshore container manufacture, the company produces DNV topside packages and containerised modules to a range of rigorous industry standards.
The new CNC machining facilities will supplement PressureFab’s medium and heavy subsea equipment fabrication, providing a more diverse and complete product line. The company also improved its corrosion protection services by upgrading its industrial coating and shotblasting facilities.
These additions have already created more than 25 new jobs, bringing the workforce to over 100 highly-skilled trades people, and will enable PressureFab Group to improve productivity with an aim to doubling capacity and production output.
Hermann Twickler, Managing Director, PressureFab Group, said: “This upgrade has transformed our Dundee-based facility into one of the most technologically advanced steel manufacturing and industrial coating businesses in Scotland.
“I am confident that it will enable the PressureFab Group to take advantage of future demands from the oil and gas industry as well as the emerging renewable energy sector.”
Offering in-house design, fabrication, and corrosion protection to offshore and subsea standards, PressureFab makes nearly 100% of its goods in-house – with the capacity at its 125,000 sq. ft. factory to design and fabricate bespoke projects up to 1,000 tons of steel volume and single components of up to 40 tons.
