Programme launched to help Scottish universities reduce carbon footprint

The Scottish Funding Council (SFC), supported by Salix Finance, is launching a £19mn programme to boost investment in energy efficiency across Scotland’s higher education institutions.

Announced on 8 July, funding will be provided from the Universities for the Future programme and will be accessible to all universities in Scotland. Funding will be allocated by SFC over the next two financial years.

The programme will support a wide range of technologies, including efficient heating upgrades and the reduction of carbon emissions in laboratories.
