Scottish Industry Minister Keith Brown, MSP, has officially announced the creation of a multi-million pound ‎centre of excellence for the oil and gas industry in East Kilbride, which will create or protect around 100 jobs.

The centre will make Scotland a world leader in the measurement of the flow of liquids under high pressure. This will have benefits for the aerospace, renewables and food and drink sectors.

It will have the most impact on the oil and gas industry, where it will help maximise economic recovery from wells.

Brown is due to meet with the company NEL’s Dr Brian Millington today and tour the company’s multiphase flow measurement testing loop – the kind of technology that will be developed at the new centre.
