Scottish Development International will lead the Scottish contingent of companies speaking, sponsoring and exhibiting at Ocean Energy Europe 2014 – the most important annual conference of the Europe’s ocean energy industry.
Sharon Hamilton, Renewable Energy International Sector Head at SDI will give a presentation on the Scottish support offered to the sector, and how this support aligns with pan-European frameworks to get pilot and commercial projects delivered.
Project developers, utilities, OEMs, suppliers and technology developers will outline their future plans to a pan-European audience around technical innovation, industry collaboration and deployment acceleration.
The speaker line-up includes senior EU Commission staff (outlining policies and funding opportunities), several European and International Energy Ministers and CEOs from the leading industry companies.
Maria Damanaki, Commissioner for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, and Guenther Oettinger, Commissioner for Energy will speak at the even.
Scottish Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, Fergus Ewing, has been invited to attend.

The event will also showcase updates on the French tidal energy projects and technology developers, as well as an exclusive workshop announcing opportunities to apply for future EU funding within the industry.
Key supply chain companies from all over the Europe will showcase and market their innovative solutions in the Ocean Energy Europe 2014 exhibition area. The exhibition area is nearly sold out – with only a few stands remaining.
The conference will be hosted in French and English, with simultaneous translation offered for all attendees.
