The Scottish actor who plays Doctor Who in the popular TV series has flown in from outer space in his trusty Tardis to help support a campaign promoting offshore wind as a key component in a future UK energy generating network.
The campaign by a coalition of environmental groups and companies is highlighting that the cost of offshore wind power has fallen by half since 2015, with the latest schemes – including a Franco-Portuguese-owned wind farm to be built in the Moray Firth- securing guaranteed prices of as low as £57.50 for the electricity they generate.
In his Earthly guise, the actor Peter Capaldi (pictured, above) said that offshore wind “may just save this planet” as he helped unveil the campaign at a railway station in central London.
