Scottish Energy News – the unique, fast, free and focussed business to business media channel for Scotland’s energy industries – has recruited a new trainee reporter/ editor.
Rebecca Shearer, who recently graduated with an MA (Hons) in American Studies and International Relations from the University of Dundee, joins the Scottish Energy News team as a trainee journalist.
Over the past year Rebecca has been a section editor for The Magdalen – the Dundee University’s Student Magazine), the Deputy Editor for DUSA Media and is currently the Sub Editor for the International Political Forum. She has also been employed on a number of projects for Dundee-based publisher D.C. Thomson & Co Ltd.
Jane Ambrose, Editor, Scottish Energy News, said: “Since we launched – less than 12 months ago – Scottish Energy News has become the go-to, free, daily news source for energy industry news in Scotland – and beyond.
“But Scottish Energy News is far from being a ‘parochial’ publication and our 3,000 active, daily email readers span the globe – with 10% of our subscribers being based in the USA and Japan/Korea and China.
“So Rebecca’s interests and international affairs will help Scottish Energy News to expand our readership in foreign markets while at the same time deepening and strengthening our coverage of Scotland and UK energy news.”
Scottish Energy News Ltd was established by Mark R. Whittet, Executive Director, in 2013 after he successfully established Scottish Legal News Ltd in 2008 while serving as Director of the Scottish Legal Action Group – the registered charity which campaigns to improve access to justice.
