On 18 December, the Scottish Government launched two consultations to inform the pipeline of future offshore wind development in Scotland and improve understanding of the technology’s role in reaching net zero.
The government is seeking views on its draft Offshore Wind Policy Statement, which aims to set out the Scottish government’s ambitions for the future of offshore wind policy in Scotland.
The draft Sectoral Marine Plan for Offshore Wind also aims to identify the most sustainable options for the future development of commercial-scale offshore wind energy in Scotland.
The consultations will be open until 25 March 2020.
