
A Scottish oilfield chemical supplier is investing in a new research and development centre that will become the firm’s global hub for development of innovative chemical solutions, enabling the business to expand its testing capabilities and services.
Roemex is an independent, privately owned business with a 30-year track record in making speciality oilfield chemicals to oil and gas operators globally. Its portfolio includes chemical solutions for drilling and completions, Hydro-Testing, production chemicals and renewable energy applications.
Headquartered in Aberdeen and with an office in Dubai, Roemex employ more than 40 people and deliver projects on an international scale across EMEA, AsiaPacfic and the Americas.
Its new £500,000 research lab is being built adjacent to company’s head office. Due for completion next month, the 450 sq-m facility will house three high specification laboratories which have been designed to handle specific testing conditions and environmental scenarios.
A dedicated drilling and completions laboratory will enable testing of fluids under simulated downhole conditions, supporting new product development of lubricants and other wellbore treatment chemicals.
George Dickson, operations director said: “Our new research and development centre will provide our clients with more analysis, screening and development capability.
“We’re recording increased revenue on last year and we expect our investment in facilities and products to contribute to further growth in 2018 and 2019.”
