Scottish Renewables has published its manifesto for the upcoming General Election, which sets out a package of measures to support the UK’s aim to modernise its energy system and tackle the climate emergency.
Published on 7 November, the organisation’s six priorities for the next UK government are for Contracts for Difference (CfD) Pot 1 auctions for onshore wind and solar to be bought forward; to commit to the provision of ring fencing for early stage technologies within the CfD system and to innovative revenue support mechanisms for wave, tidal and floating wind sectors.
Also, Ofgem should be provided with regulatory powers to enable investment in low-carbon infrastructure.
