Aberdeen-based Seatronics – part of the Acteon marine sale and rental equipment group – has secured a new contract with Bibby Offshore to be their preferred supplier of subsea rental equipment.

At the same time, it has has formed a new partnership agreement with Force Technology, an international technological consultancy company.

For Bibby Offshore, Seatronics will provide ROV, NDT and survey equipment from its rental pool of  more than 9,000 pieces of kit.

Bibby Offshore will also benefit from Seatronics’ integrated services such as calibration, asset management and personnel support. The contract has been established for an initial 12 month period with the opportunity for extension.

In the new agreement will provide Seatronics’ global customer base with access to Force Technology’s Field Gradient Sensor (FiGS) system. FiGS is a non-contact Cathodic Protection (CP) inspection tool, and the only tool on the market of its kind.

The FiGS system offers a step change in CP integrity as it detects coating damages on exposed and buried pipelines and structures, accurately measures anode performance and helps optimise CP retrofitting. The beneficial features of the FiGS offers substantial cost savings for the client as well as reducing inspection time.

Seatronics and Bibby Offshore have upheld a strong working relationship for a number of years, collaborating on an extensive variety of survey and diving projects, in particular the use of the RTS Gen 5 Mux solution, exclusively available from Seatronics, which has formed an integral part of Bibby’s ROV systems.

Phil Middleton, Seatronics Group Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Force Technology and the FiGS system is a product which we are genuinely excited about.

“Seatronics has always been synonymous with the latest innovative technology and we are actively developing our portfolio of equipment, which can assist our clients in assessing the long term integrity of their assets.”

The FiGS system will be available for rental throughout Seatronics’ global bases in Aberdeen, Houston, Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
