SGS launches new system to accelerate the net zero transition

Glasgow-based Smarter Grid Solutions (SGS) announced the release of its third-generation distributed energy resources management system ANM Strata 3.0 on 1 April.

The new version will allow a greater number of renewable energy devices to be connected to power grids at the same time. It is also better placed to manage battery energy storage on the system, thereby helping to better balance supply and demand and provide required grid flexibility.

Colin Gault, head of products at SGS, said: “ANM Strata 3.0 is a leap forward in network operators’ abilities to meet the challenges of reaching net-zero and tackling the climate emergency. Renewable energy and energy storage are essential components to decarbonise our power networks and this is the software that will enable much larger numbers of energy devices to be integrated into the grid while maintaining stability.”
