Sgurr Energy advises Sumitomo on stake in Galloper offshore wind farm

Offshore wind general Govt picSgurr Energy – the renewable energy consultancy owned by the Wood Group – has provided independent technical advice to a Japanese multi-national on its acquisition of a share in the Galloper offshore wind farm.

Sumitomo Corporation is due to acquire a 12.5% stake in the 336MW project when the deal closes later this month.

Galloper offshore wind farm is located off the south-east coast of England, within the Thames estuary. 

Construction for Galloper starts this month cable laying operations. The project comprises 56 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 wind turbines and is expected to become operational in early 2018.
