Glasgow-based renewable consultancy Sgurr Energy has launched a dedicated service to optimise and reduce the risks involved in renewable energy investments, building on its established due diligence experience.
The Sgurr Commerce service provides technical view of renewable energy investments, providing solutions to enable the financing of capital intensive activities. The new service can offer clients commercial due diligence, cost and performance benchmarking, financial and computation modelling.
The team can also conduct tornado modelling, Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, economic assessments, policy and regulatory studies and power market forecast and analysis.
Sgurr Energy, part of Wood Group, has provided technical due diligence and advice on over 110GW of renewable energy projects globally. Covering around 3,800 transactions in the last 12 years, the projects represent over $250 billion of invested capital.
Cleantech and renewables principal financial analyst at Sgurr Energy, David Cunningham, said: “Establishing the Sgurr Commerce service combines our deep knowledge of renewable energy development from engineering advisory services to financial analysis and provides clients with unrivalled market insight into the risks and returns during critical phases in their corporate development.“
