Shell to face court case over N. Sea oil leak

Shell logoAnglo-Dutch oil giant Shell will this week (w/b 23 Nov 2015) appear at Aberdeen sheriff court to face criminal charges of breach of oil pollution and pipeline health and safety regulations.

The charges stem from a subsea leak in which more than 200 tonnes of oil was spewed out into the North Sea following a breach from its Gannet Alpha platform 110 miles off Aberdeen in 2011.
