SNP pledges national free switching service

The SNP has pledged to introduce a national free switching service, which would enable people to find out how much money they can save on their energy bills and help them switch suppliers.

Announced on 17 November in an emailed press release, the SNP claims this service could save families £300 a year.

The service would be introduced alongside a database of people who have not switched suppliers so that the service could contact these people to encourage them to opt for a cheaper deal.
